World leaders in sustainable manufacturing

We're changing the way the world sleeps

While the world sleeps, we won’t. Here at Harrison Spinks our focus is ethical and sustainable circular design. All our new mattresses are now fully foam-free, glue free and FR chemical treatment free. What’s more, 100% of our mattress production is recyclable at end of its life.

We strive to make our products and processes more sustainable through a permanent reduction and improvement process to continually reduce our impact on the environment.

We're leading the way in awards

Our commitment to protecting the environment is world-leading and we have been recognised with not one, but two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

We’re proud of our Carbon Neutral+ accreditation, in fact we were the first bed manufacturer in the UK to hold this title. In the coming years we will continue to reduce our carbon emissions and increase our carbon capture.

Our Eco Promise

Our focus is sustainability. All of our new mattresses are designed with this in mind. Each new mattress is foam-free, glue-free and FR chemical treatment free. 100% recyclable. Zero to landfill.

Foam-free

Foam is unable to be recycled. Designed in house; our 100% recyclable, glue free Micro springs replace the need for foam. Highly flexible these springs relieve pressure, helping to keep your spine in perfect alignment.

Glue-free

In 2019, we developed Cortec™ – the world’s first 100% recyclable, glue-free pocket spring system. All of our mattresses are now produced using Cortec™ technology. A new dawn for comfort technology, offering superior comfort, while allowing all of our mattresses to be fully recyclable.

FR chemical-treatment free

We weave our own chemical free mattress fabric in-house; combining traditional methods with state-of-the-art weaving looms, creating a breathable and FR chemical free sleeping surface. An innovative but natural finish to the perfect night’s sleep.

Zero to landfill. 100% recyclable

All our mattresses are circular by design. We believe a sleep environment that is glue free, foam free and FR chemical treatment free is healthier and significantly reduces our impact on the planet. Knowing we are doing the right thing means we can all rest easy.

Circular by design

At Harrison Spinks we have been on a sustainable journey longer than any other bed business. Our focus is being the most ethical and sustainable bed manufacturer.

Growing the movement

All of the wood we use in our headboards and divans is sourced from sustainably managed forests that are FSC® certified. In 2009 we purchased our own 56-acre woodland in North Yorkshire, something that we plan on expanding as part of our sustainability journey.

Our own recycling plant

Our very own recycling centre will recycle all our mattresses containing Cortec™ free of charge. The springs can be put back into the melting pot, ready to re-use. It’s the same with our polyester fillings – we can re-fibernise them so they can be converted into next generation fillings. We will do all we can to solve the current landfill challenge.

Renewable and self sustainable

We are investigating renewable solar energy and wind turbines on our farm, to rely less on the national grid.
